With government’s recent announcement of a 100% full fibre to the premises target by 2033 and 15M homes to be connected by 2025, the breaks are off with treasury to push funding wide enough to support that ambition through the National Productivity Investment Fund NPIF.

Kirklees are also working to make it easier for private sector investment to be deployed in Kirklees for infrastructure, however that is only part of the overall challenge.

We need to ensure our residents, citizens and businesses all have the skills, knowledge and expertise needed to capitalise on that infrastructure to benefit their work, employment opportunities and how they live their lives in the future.

The Digital Framework Strategy is critical: it will shape future regional priorities that will improve the greater good as we move into a new digital age.
