Community Engagement Officer, The Civic, Barnsley

Are you an experienced community arts practitioner? Are you passionate about working with communities and developing audiences?

The Civic is an arts centre located in the heart of Barnsley offering a varied and diverse combined arts programme featuring work across the following genres: Music, Comedy, Visual Arts, Theatre, Dance and Circus

Over the next three years the theatre are looking to grow audiences across the full breadth of our artistic programme, establish a successful volunteer recruitment programme and build lasting on the ground relationships within the wider community.

This new post for The Civic will deliver this exciting outreach project and play an essential role in the implementation of an audience development strategy.

The successful candidate will be a pro-active, confident and experienced community arts practitioner with exceptional relationship building skills and an in depth knowledge of outreach as an audience development tool.
The Community Engagement Officer post is a fixed term role supported by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation until March 2022.

Salary £21,782
