Carriageworks Theatre is located on Millennium Square in the prestigious Electric Press building. The venue celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2015 and is known for showcasing high quality work by professional artists as well as being the family friendly performance venue in the city centre. With the main auditorium seating 350 and a studio space seating 55, the theatre is the proud home to the Leeds Civic Arts Guild and Carriageworks Young Theatre Makers.

The Carriageworks Programme Manager will plan and programme various strands of activity including artistic, commercial, education and outreach, amateur and professional, and oversee each event’s publicity and marketing through management of the Carriageworks Arts and Promotions Officer.

The successful candidate will develop the theatre’s artistic programme, keeping abreast of current industry developments and trends, so that the theatre showcases the best in national and regional performance, balancing the creative and artistic vision of the venue with the imperative to generate income.

The Programme Manager will nurture ongoing relationships with local communities and strive to place The Carriageworks at the heart of participatory arts activities within the city of Leeds by establishing partnerships with other venues and agencies. They will facilitate the use of the venue as a platform for new theatre companies, showcasing it as a hub for the development of new work and emerging artists.
