Call Out For Applications: Commission Opportunity Circus 250

Greentop Community Circus Centre and The Civic, Barnsley are co-commissioning an outdoor circus performance as part of the Circus 250 landmark celebration, with support from Arts Council England.

This work will be presented in a non- theatre environment/every day space within Barnsley Town Centre and Sheffield City Centre in spring 2018.

We are open to ideas and are seeking proposals from artists wanting to create a small scale circus performance piece that encourages the general public to engage when passing by. The work produced should demonstrate a distinct and clear aesthetic, whilst being suitable for a wide range of audiences, including families.

The call out is open to artists and companies from across the UK and we would be pleased to receive proposals from artists and companies based in Yorkshire or Sheffield City region.

What we can offer:
£8.2k commission (comprises bursary and studio time)
Technical and promotional support from Greentop and advice/mentoring from The Civic

Deadline for applications: 1pm, Monday 20 March 2017
Shortlisted candidates will be informed by: Tuesday 28 March 2017
Interviews: Tuesday 4 April 2017 at Greentop Community Circus Centre, Sheffield
