A call for performers:
A Celebration of Us – Saturday 22 June at Huddersfield Parish Church 1pm.
The aim of ‘A Celebration of Us’ is to bring together the communities of Kirklees in a one-hour performance from the different cultures of our area. Music, dance and other arts will be featured and there will be a link with #MoreInCommon as it coincides with that weekend and Jo Cox’s birthday.
There is a warm welcome for contributions of any style from cultures within our community. Ideally looking for one performance, possibly two from each performer depending on how it builds up.
There is a call particularly for:
- Asian dancers (including those who will take part in a section from Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man)
- Sikh drummers (including those who will take part in a section from Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man)
- Asian musicians
- Eastern European community
