Location: Based in Hertford
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £43,484 - £53,679 per annum
East Herts Council is committed to improving our leisure and environment offer to our residents.
We are:
- Investing £30m into redeveloping our leisure centres
- Developing a physical activity strategy for the District
- Working with our partners to create a visitor destination in one of our major parks
- Investing in improvements in our play areas and open spaces
- Dedicating resources to tackle and prevent fly tipping.
We are looking to appoint a forward-thinking Leisure and Environment Service Manager who will help achieve our aspirations. Main responsibilities will be to lead on major contract tendering and management, lead on the development of key strategies and projects and manage the leisure and environment service area under the Operations Service.
The successful candidate will have a degree, project management skills and proven track record of managing large contracts. Excellent negotiating and influencing skills are essential to the role as well as being commercially aware. You will also have experience in managing and leading staff and building strategic relationships. It is important that you have the ability to travel across the District and be able to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings/events.
