Academy Supervisor, The Pauline Quirke Academy; Watford

The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA) is a UK wide network of performing arts Academies, offering classes in Musical Theatre, Comedy & Drama and Film & Television to students aged 4 – 18. We now have 113 Academies nationwide and we are still growing.

PQA is now looking for an Academy Supervisor to offer support to our Academy in Watford. This weekend position would be based at the Academy location above, and the successful candidate would be working alongside the Academy Principal and the Academy Vice Principal.

This exciting opportunity would suit an individual interested in the performing arts who is looking to take their first steps into supporting the management of a performing arts academy. The ideal candidate should be hard working, dynamic, vibrant, ambitious, a strong communicator and able to multi task. Own transport is essential. Performing Arts teaching experience is desirable but not essential.

You should have excellent organisational skills, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and the ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate initiative.
Responsibilities include:
• Supporting our team of Teachers
•Assisting in lessons where required
•Supervising and being responsible for our students during Academy sessions
•Safeguarding students and being aware of child protection via PQA provided courses
•Setting up Academy equipment and displaying branding
•Being responsible for some Academy equipment and bringing to the Academy each week
•Assisting with the planning of projects and events such as our West End Season, Cinema Screenings, Plays, Musicals, Masterclasses, Trinity Exams and much more.
•Welcoming parents at the Academy Reception and dealing with queries
•Welcoming taster students & showing taster parents around the Academy
•Keeping up to date with the industry

Fee: £12 - £15 p/h based on experience
Hours: Saturdays 08.30 – 16.15
