Marketing Co-ordinator exetreme imagination
exetreme imagination is a biennial festival of literature for children and young people, which aims to:
enthuse and inspire children and young people across Exeter, showcasing high quality writing for children, and fostering talent in writing by children and young people;
engage marginalised and low engagement groups of young people, and families/carers in Exeter;
programme accessible activities which occur in schools, in community settings, in cultural venues, and in the natural environment;
inspire and inform adults using writing by and for young people as a creative tool to develop better understanding of young people and what is relevant to them;
strengthen and extend sustainable collaborative partnerships between creative organisations within Exeter.
exetreme imagination brings together the major arts and culture organisations in Exeter in a creative collaboration.The third exetreme imagination festival will be in October half term 2014 (Saturday 25 October – Saturday 1 November 2014).
We are seeking to secure a creative and self-motivated marketing co-ordinator for the festival who will coordinate all aspects of publicity for the Festival, including:
Devising a full strategic marketing plan;
Creating press releases at appropriate times;
Leading on the design and collation of the 2014 Festival brochure;
Co-ordinating distribution of materials;
Developing strong social media presence;
Liaising with festival partners over all aspects of marketing;
Updating the Festival website;
Securing value for money in marketing materials.
Work closely with the project manager to ensure cohesive voice across festival.
We are looking for a freelancer, with their own IT equipment, and a flexible outlook. The timescale for this work is with immediate effect on appointment until the Festival itself. It is important for applicants to note that there will be natural peaks and troughs in this work, and flexibility is an important requirement.
We have a budget of £4000 available as a fee for the co-ordination role, and a further £9,000 available for spending on marketing materials and activities.
