Creative web designer role (9 month contract)
Creative web designer – 4-5 days a week – 9 months contract (covering maternity leave)
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, creative designer to join our award winning design team. Your role will predominantly involve creating the visual design layer for all new job boards as well as other products and services.
You will be involved at every stage of the design process. From initial meetings with clients to gather requirements and discuss ideas, to developing those ideas into signed off visuals and assets that can be used effectively by HTML developers to realize your designs.
You will be responsible for monitoring the quality and consistency of the design output throughout the project lifecycle to launch and beyond. For this you will need to be highly pro-active, with a meticulous eye for detail.
You will be providing expert knowledge of design options within the products we are selling and effectively communicating those to clients and across the company.
You would also be responsible for maintaining and developing the Madgex brand wherever it is implemented. This would include creating sales & marketing material that promote the products and brand as effectively as possible.
Working closely, and in an iterative way, with the Madgex product team and our user experience consultant is also key in ensuring that your visual designs support the optimum user experience.
You will also need to have a good understanding of front-end development best practice, but you will not be required to hand-code HTML and CSS.
We are looking for someone that is aware of the latest design trends, passionate about the web, abreast of the latest developments and news, and constantly looking at ways to innovate and help to drive the business forward.
Required skills include:
• Graphic design degree or equivalent
• 2 -3 years commercial experience
• Great working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
• A good understanding of user experience best practice
• An understanding of HTML and CSS
Desirable but not essential:
• Experience of producing wireframes and site maps
• Experience with rapid prototyping tools such as Axure
We offer: A highly competitive salary, that is negotiable depending on skills and experience. Our benefits package includes: pension, bonus, 25-30 days holiday pro rata, flexible working, family/partner friendly policies, learning & development allowance, and a genuine commitment to your learning and development.
No agencies please.
Please attach a CV, some work examples and a cover letter which details what it is about you that should make us want to meet you.
