For The Fallen
For the Fallen comes this October to Broxbourne Civic Hall to remember those lost during the First World War.
For the Fallen tells the story through song, dance, music and words of two people separated by the First World War. It brings together all aspects of the community for a production to commemorate and remember the events of 100 years ago. Honouring the pledge that each generation makes, ‘we will remember them’. In doing so, it honours and pays tribute to all those who died in the service of their country.
Irene Alano-Rhodes, who has performed in the West End production of Miss Saigon and Roxy Searle, who is a Hertfordshire-born signer songwriter and ambassador for the 3Music, singing competition in Hertfordshire, will both be taking lead roles in the production.
The production will also see local groups Valle Academy, U3A, Step2Step and school children from Fairfield School choir re-telling the story with poetry, readings, dance and song.
The production is produced by TSE Productions, with John Thompson as Artistic director.
The event is part of the county-wide ‘Heart of Flame’ festival programme for 2014.
All seats cost £10. Members of the public can book tickets from the Box Office on 01992 441946 or online on the leisure pages of the website.
Events and activities will take place nationally from 2014 to 2018 to commemorate the First World War and to pay respect to those who lost their lives. Broxbourne Borough Council has organised a programme of events and activities aimed at people of all ages.
