TORQUAY FESTIVAL 2013
There will be a whole day of shows, artists, music and comedy in Union St., Fleet Walk and at The Harbour on Sat 27th July.
This will feature the Street Heat Samba Band leading a procession to start the show, followed by lots of great character street acts and performers on two stages throughout the day.
From 11am to 6pm the streets of Torquay will be changed into an entertainment dream so come along and enjoy the show - it's all free!
You'll be able to see the jugglers and the clowns, join in the junk percussion band or help create a big chalk drawing on the pavement . There'll be Musical Ruth the Singing Nun, Haggis and Charlie - the best and funniest jugglers in the world and Jonah's Lift who'll be making a big dancing ceilidh at The Harbour.
SPECIAL ATTRACTION!
The People’s Tower, Fleet Walk, Torquay.
Sat 27th July from 12 noon
We will be constructing a 21st. century version of the Torquay Clocktower made entirely from cardboard and parcel tape in Fleet Walk. Hectic Events are working with UZ Arts to bring International artist Olivier Grosstete from Marseilles to design and build this unique structure. We would love as many of the Torquay public to be involved as possible. It’s really easy and great fun. As we go higher and higher we need more people to get involved and help to lift the tower as we insert the cardboard boxes to make the next level. The aim is to make it at least 15 metres tall
We’ll be starting at 12 noon and hope to complete it by 5pm. Then just wait and see what happens!
Please come along and get involved in this all inclusive project that will create a unique building in just one afternoon.
