'An Unnecessary Murder' by Simon Hall
'An Unnecessary Murder' is the debut play from internationally acclaimed writer and BBC South West home affairs correspondent Simon Hall. The play is based on his excellent TV Detective books and includes some familiar fictitious characters. TV reporter Dan Groves and Chief Inspector Adam Breen collaborate to solve the baffling murder of notorious businessman Andrew Brooks and come face to face with some rather curious suspects... In the opening scene we see Dan paying a prostitute to secure an interview then 'rewarded' with a rather unwelcome new job as punishment ... An edge of seat cracker of a crime thriller, full of surprises and devious twists. Directed by Jac Bevan, performed by Ad Hoc Productions. The play will be available after April free of charge to other theatre groups on condition it is used to raise money for charitable organisations throughout the South West.
