We are currently looking to recruit a Theatre Director to lead our wonderful Princess Theatre here in Torquay to cover a period of Maternity Leave.

You’ll report to the Business Director (UK Venues) and your direct reports will include the Theatre Manager, Technical Manager, Head of Marketing and Communication, and Ticketing and Sales Manager. You’ll also work closely with the whole Princess team; with central colleagues such as the F&B Director, Programming Director, Director of Producer Partnerships; and with fellow Theatre Directors.

This primary purpose of this role is to provide effective leadership of the Princess Theatre and its team, and to deliver commercial and reputational success for the venue.

The incoming Theatre Director will lead and support an experienced team of department heads and will continue the current progress on raising service standards, improving the programme and ensuring that the Princess Theatre is at the heart of Torquay’s communities. The Theatre Director should not only be a leader in the venue but should be a major player in the local community.
