The Artizan Gallery Micro Festival of Performance and Poetry

Microfestival
To celebrate the Spring bank holiday Artizan Gallery will play host to a micro-festival of arts with a weekend of show-stopping poetry and performance, all tied together by our month long solo exhibition of the artwork of John Furness.

Kicking off the Saturday we bring you the Weston-Super-Mare based Arkoform Theatre Company and their production “Knock Knock”, a combination of poetry, puppetry and physical theatre.

Sunday we welcome local “performance poet and professor of whimsy”, multi-slam winner Robert Garnham with his latest show “Static” destined for the Guildford and Edinburgh Fringes later this year. He’ll be supported by Poetry Island host Ian Beech.

And finally on the bank holiday Monday we bring you our always popular Stanza Extravaganza, the Gallery’s monthly poetry event. Along with an awesome line-up of local poets we’ll be bringing you headliner Ziggy and host Brenda Hutchings at the reigns keeping them all in check.

He's static.
Static is an autobiographical piece mixing elements of poetry, humour and props to explore issues of identity, personal history and geography. Using poems which are thought provoking and often hilarious, Robert takes a look at his life and wonders why things have seemingly slowed down.
Robert is a multiple slam winning, published performance poet, recently long listed in the Saboteur Awards. He has performed all over the UK from London to the Edinburgh Fringe, and this Autumn he will be making his New York debut.”
