The Fabrication of Imagination
Artizan Gallery is delighted to be welcoming for the first time a group of artists from the art group, Teign Artists. The Teign Artists are a group of professional and amateur artists who live and work in and around the Teign Valley and stage several exhibitions each year.
Ben Yates has worked meticulously to develop ‘photo-cubism’ and ‘electri-cities’ for the past ten years. Alison Penwell produces unique, crafted stained glass pieces inspired by the sea and moors. Patricia Ferns is exhibiting her paintings on silk inspired by nature and Japanese traditions. Ray Vyse works with wood in a unique art form to produce wall-art that seeks out the subtle, directional qualities in the grain. Elizabeth Rashley, a linocut artist whose bold and imaginative work is inspired by nature and daily domestic life. Hannah Cawthorne is a photographer and painter drawn towards bold and colourful abstract imagery based on the unintentional magic and beauty surrounding us. Josie Gould explores the interplay of energetic qualities of colour, space and light in her textural images and textiles.
We are looking forward to having their work on display in the gallery for two weeks in June as it promises to be a great show!
The Exhibition runs from 16th - 28th June and there will be a Private Evening View on Friday 19th June 6-8pm. A chance to meet and talk to the artists taking part.
