Sue Nicholls: online exhibition for Artistsmeet
Artistsmeet's doors may remain closed for the timebeing, but you can still enjoying seeing artwork from home, at any time of day!
Originally intended for the Artistsmeet gallery back in April, we are delighted to now be promoting an online exhibition of work, by artist Sue Nicholls.
‘Landmarks’ – virtual exhibition
Tuesday 16th June – Monday 3rd August 2020
‘Landmarks’ explores how elements in a landscape combine to give it a familiarity and sense of place. It might be the distinctive outline of a stand of trees, the ridges and furrows of a ploughed field or the plants and flowers that add seasonal texture and colour to a stretch of land.
Sue’s main source of inspiration is the rural landscape surrounding her East Hertfordshire home. She pulls together sketches and photographs of elements in the landscape that interest her, turning observations into collections of work that combine a variety of materials (including fabric, paper and thread) with a number of techniques - machine and hand embroidery, line drawing and paint.
Visit www.watersmeet/artistsmeet for more information and the link to Sue’s full exhibition, of wonderfully detailed pictures!
