Mind...Moving In New Directions
Mind...Moving In New Directions
Stephen Paul Bunce
4 - 30 October 2017
Open Monday - Friday 10am - 4pm and Saturday 10am - 2pm
In championing the positive effects that creativity can have on health and wellbeing, Artistsmeet are delighted to feature the work of Stephen Bunce, a resident of Three Rivers who came to work with Hertfordshire Mind, following an enforced stay at a mental health in patient unit in Radlett.
Left with nothing but a biro, Stephen continued to produce art work as a means of survival and a route to recovery. In the unit he met Mind staff who encouraged him on the ward and at discharge, to exhibit his work in order to inspire others.
Hugely influenced by the work of Francis Bacon, Stephen offers an insight and visual guide to the reasons behind his development with regard to knowing what he likes, needs and wants in order to successfully blend all three with the medium of ink.
Stephen believes that the collapse after his psychological dilemma led him to experience pure insight and clarity, which has been the driving force to his latest work.
