Homely Art using Reduced, Reused and Recycled Textiles
We’re preparing for autumn in Artistsmeet with a comforting exhibition that has a handmade feel!
Nan Millette, born and educated in Canada, has been a fibre artist since 2012 and specialises in the process of rug hooking.
Many of the materials she uses are discarded fabrics from repurposed charity shop clothing, ribbons used for hanging on tops and dresses, or from wrapped gifts.
She enjoys creating new ways of working in the fibre arts, using recycled materials whenever possible, in her hand-hooked rugs, wall art and cushions.
Nan runs workshops and exhibits in online exhibitions, as well as in several small shows in the UK and Nova Scotia.
She is also involved with craft groups in the UK and is a member of TIGHR (The International Guild of Handhooking Rugmakers).
