A beautiful musical, ‘The Last Five Years’ by Jason Robert Brown, charts the breakdown of a relationship from meeting to separation over a five year period. Told from two opposing points of view, we follow Jamie from the start of the relationship to the end, whereas Cathy’s journey begins at the end of the relationship and ends when they meet. Both actors, unconventionally, only meet once during the course of the show. This ‘crossover’ is the point at which they get married.

Performed with contemporary music in a ‘Jamie Callum’ piano-led, modern style, the songs resonate with emotions that can be recognised by anyone who has ever had a relationship end.
