Making Baskets: Blackberry basket

Being able to weave a basket from willow is very rewarding. Angela Sanders will show you how to work with willow and the techniques needed to create beautiful objects. You will come away with the satisfaction of having made something useful and individual.

This two-day course will introduce you to the basics of stake and strand techniques to make a blackberry basket. Stake and strand is a method used to make traditional baskets such as shopping baskets. You will also learn about how willow materials are harvested and prepared for weaving.
