The Clay Mill

The Clay Mill opened in 2018 as a space to make and teach ceramics. Our mission is to create a vibrant community of potters in our mill workshop in Slaithwaite, Colne Valley. We teach all potters of all ages and skill levels, alongside making and selling and delivering community, education and public art projects. We have a membership system for potters who just need facilities and run beginners classes too. We have electric wheels, space for hand-building and 2 kilns.

Over the pandemic time we have continued to deliver clay projects in schools and communities including Kirklees Garden Stories (funded by Kirklees Council and managed by Beam as part of the #heARTyourtown sculpture trail).

We look forward to welcoming people back to the mill over the coming months.
