Join audiovisual professional Aiwan Obinyan for a weekend course on sound design for film, theatre and TV!

Course Description
Sound design is at the very heart of a film, theatre or TV show, when done well it has the power to make us feel a wide range of emotions from fear to sadness and joy to pain.
This 2-day course will immerse you in the world of sound design. You will learn both the technical and creative skills required to create sounds that enhance the drama on stage and on screen. Using synthesisers and existing sounds you will use Logic Pro X to create your own original sounds and soundscapes to enhance the action in a theatre production (scripts will be provided). You will learn how to communicate emotion and meaning through sound design whilst working in state of the art facilities using industry standard equipment to create mind-bending sounds and soundscapes.
Activities
• Learning about and creating the elements of a soundtrack
• Reading, understanding and working from a script
• Storytelling through sound design
• Audio recording, manipulation and sound design
• Qlab – programming and performing sound for theatre
• How to work well with Directors and other production team members
On completion of this course, participants will have created a short showreel that may be submitted as part of an Arts Award or ASDAN qualification.
Aiwan Obinyan is a Filmmaker and Composer who has worked in the film and music industries as a musician, audio engineer, composer and filmmaker for over fifteen years. Her work has appeared on national and international TV and in 2013 she founded AiAi Studios a production company specialising in music & sound design for Film, TV and artists.
