Artist In Residence - National Open Art 2016

Artist In Residence - National Open Art 2016

I have been selected to be an Artist in Residence at the 20th National Open Art Exhibition at the historic Mercer's Hall in the heart of the City of London. The Residency will run from the 27th October until 4th November 2016, and is a great opportunity to challenge myself to a new creative environment. As an Artist I always strive to find new ways to alter the way I work as this act as an aid to keep the work fresh and allow new ideas to emerge. During my creative practice I have always confined myself to a solitary state when it comes to creating my paintings as it helps me to focus, however, during the NOA AIR I shall be forced to break down this physical isolation. I shall be in Residence in the heart of the National Open Art Competition Exhibition, on display amongst the final exhibition artists work, exposed for all the world to interact with me and my way of working. I fully expect this experience to be both intense and insightful, giving me the opportunity to explain work during various stages, as each painting embarks on its own journey to completion and to be able to share that process could be both valuable to both viewer and creator.
The NOA AIR is free entry, which will give the public the opportunity to not only see some amazing work on show for free, but will also give them the option to return at a later date to see the development of my work. This really is an exciting opportunity that I can not wait to embark on, and also to share.
